I just used VCDS lite with the cheapo cable. you can still get all the codes, you just have to use a chart to work out what each one is. does the job for my needs really.

Not sure who did the dyno to be honest, the tuners had it dyno'd for me. Somewhere in dandenong at a guess.

gday mate.. havent looked at the car in any way for the past couple of weeks. Been super busy with work (yay shift work) and have no money to get it to a workshop. I looked all over the car for any leaks, couldnt find one..

Im going to check my timing to make sure thats all hunky dory before i take it to the workshop. Asides from a leak, or a MAF issue, i just dont know what else could be robbing so much power.

Its definately not fuel, as i know that feeling.

What should the timing be?

What did it feel like when fuel was the issue?

I'm hopefully changing the o2 sensor soon (tomorrow with any luck) I did a maf and tb clean yesterday but noticed a split CV boot before I could run some wot logs.

What blocks are you measuring?

i havent had a fuel issue on the gti, only on my silvia.Iit is like a surging of power, rather than a complete lack of it, especially under load.

I need to look into timing, but i think im due for a timing belt, so ill look into costs etc to see if its a worthy DIY or better off getting someone whose done it 100 times to do so.

Im not measuring any blocks (no VCDS, only lite for faults) at this point. pretty strapped for cash with house deposit etc, hence its taking me a while.

the 02 sensor should improve your fuel, i doubt its going to give you a lot of power back, unless your ecu is going into limp mode due to an 02 fault being logged.

ran a boost pressure test at home today... highlighted a cracked dipstick tube, not much else.. ill replace that then do it again.

Also raised the front about 2 inches... can fit 3 fingers between guard and tyre now.. crazy... as im heading a drive and might have to take some slightly offroad tracks to get where im camping.. hopefully dont get stuck.

hell yea, took long enough!! looks awesome in person, light was fading. Need to give them a detail and the car too. The front is still jacked up from when i went camping (4x4 rake yeaaa)... I'll wind the coils down and hopefully the helper doesnt foul on the front rims. Ended up fitting 215/40/R17 to 17x8 ET38 and ET39.
