how did you clean the AFM? those are really fragile, you might have broken it. Best to get it scanned
Welcome!!![]()
I recently purchased a 02 mk4 SE 1.6 with 100k as a daily, Ive serviced the car changing air filter, cleaning air flow meter and throttle body, oil and oil filter, new coolant and checked plugs which are bosch super spark which look in good order, although i have a problem the car drives fine but on idle the engine is running rough the revs aren't hunting but the motor seems to shake as if its missing, checked for obvious vacuum leaks and still don't know what could be causing it?
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks

1991 BMW 318is RED E30
Just sprayed it with contact cleaner no physical contact, what do you mean 'get it scanned' sorry im new to vw's
Scanned- means to have it plugged into a VW diagnostics computer to scan the onboard computer to read faults.
The car is fairly smart - sensors and any components which are controlled by the ECU can record faults. These faults can be read by special software to let the service guys know what is broken.
This system can run tests as well.
So get you car off to a VW specialist and get it sorted.

MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
You might need to to do an idle reset.
can anyone recommend any VW specialist in the sydney?

We can scan it and fix it for you.
Probably a vacuum leak. Oil brether pipe would be common on that car.
