I've read about 5 of your last comments (not just in this thread) and it seems like your the only hater on here, playa lol.

Anyway, nice mods! Are they just for aesthetics or do they make a big difference in air flow?

Bingo! I'm not a mk4 golf turbo hater at all! I severely dislike some people's attitudes to this forum and the people on it though!

Looks great. I agree with Branko's words. it does LOOK small. I'm sure you've spent a gazillion dollars on it though because it's bound to be perfect.

I understand that but I know of a MKIV thats going for 330+ kw atw and it has a MUCH bigger intercooler. Despite the design, you can't beat pure surface area and volume. Out of curiosity what were your motivations for installing this kind of intercooler and your exhaust? Reliability, looks, money laundering etc ?

Just because it has a bigger intercooler doesn't mean it actually needs a bigger intercooler.

As for not being about to beat pure surface area and volume - I beg to differ, but I reckon I could design a huge intercooler with ****house performance (without even trying! ). Design and efficiency are critical when you're talking about fluid dynamics (airflow gets treated as a fluid when working in these areas of design).

It's probably sensible when aiming for significantly higher-than-stock power targets to over-engineer, particularly if after hitting 330kW ATW a decision is made to up the boost further to reach 400kW ATW - the last thing you want to be doing then is junking the intercooler you just spent significant money on and having to go to something bigger again.

Hmmmm, money laundering. Oh to have more money than I know what to do with...
    Nothing to see here...

    Yeah very nice job.

As many others have mentioned - beware of water.
A puddle will NOT need to be as deep as you think to cause a problem.
Don't think that because the actual air box / upper sections of the intake path are high you should be okay.
Even a little bit of water is BAD news.

    Cheers,

    Keith

to have a real nice street car with mods that fit 100% the old fmic was rubbish and the old front bar was cut to fit it in, so now i use a genuine R32 front bar and the fmic fits like a glove the bar would stay on with not 1 bolt in it and the exhaust is just a real nice bloddy job, no i dont launder money lol, all i say is pimpin aint easy lol
