New Beetle transmission?

Hi,
I am looking at buying my wife a new beetle and was wondering what auto transmission the later models use? It's listed as a 6 speed is it the same as the new golfs? What are peoples experiences of driving them?

I am not a fan of autos but there are a couple around that are priced quite nicely. (Not been to drive them yet but thought i'd get peoples opinions)

If anyone can point me to a review I'd appreciate it.

if you are referring to the DSG in the later golfs? then no its not the same gearbox. Its a 6 speed auto as stated.

they are a bad auto, most will need a valve body at about 80k, id avoid them. not all are bad but for $3-4000 repair bill its not worth the risk
