Checked my 4mo standard wheels today, definitely +42 offset on a 6.5" rim, Brands Hatch i think is what the wheel style is.
That's good to know that I don't have to remove the headlights to replace the globes.
Yeah there's not that much tread left on the tyres. Any idea on how much a wrecker would sell a set of rims for, and are there any good VW wreckers in Melbourne?

Apart from the swaybars to stiffen the suspension, if you don't want to lower it then you could do what I have done and fit heavy duty Bilstein shocks, makes a big difference. You should be able to get a full set landed from ECS for around the $600-$700 mark with the current exchange rate.
Enjoy the Bora!

Great thanks for the info guys. +42 seems fairly normal, i guess for a wider 7.5 or 8" wheel an offset of +32 - 35 may be needed.
Adam, can I ask how much you paid for your 17" sports alloys? They look awesome and exactly what I'm after

Yep, that's the plan! I'm only worried that shipping would be expensive.
I may try a few wreckers and see if there are any good rims around
Picking it up tonight!!!!!!! Massively excited
