It's not the tyres, but the wheels. Wrong pcd, likely wrong offset
this is prob stupid question but
found rims for my car and need a decision within next day or so
they are 235/40/18 and on my car atm is 185/75/14
wondering would they??
my car is a 01 vw golf and the rims are coming off a 04 audi a8
thanks

Find out what the offset is for the old and the new, this is the last piece of info you need to calculate the fitting.
Then go to town with this calculator Wheel Offset Calculator
Oh check the stud pattern too. You want 5x100 not 5x112, later VW and audi are 112.

MK4 GTI - Sold
MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.
PCD is almost certainly wrong unless they're reps in 5x100. Real A8 wheels will be 5x112 and will not fit.
Nothing to see here...
thanks guys for the help
unfortunately i was to late and missed out on them
the rims sold for $150 which was a bargain and one of em had bit of gutter rash and didnt worry me to much.
just got to keep lookn.
Did you read anything we said? They almost certainly would not have fitted regardless, so you've just avoided spending $150 on wheels you couldn't use.
And for $150, I'm pretty sure they'd have been reps and not real A8s - such things generally tend to be low quality...
