Need to fit an alarm ?

A few cars have been broken into at work recently,

Im not sure what level of security my car has. I certainly cannot see any alarm sensors,

I would like the function of auto start. I have seen various units on ebay ( look chinese) and some alarms on the likes of JBhifi. i could budget up to 300$ and would hope to do the wiring myself with the help of my m8 (mechanic) im reasonable with reading wiring diagrams.

Q1 If insurance companies give a reduction in cost if good alarm fitted, and does this alarm have to be fitted by an approved fitter etc to be recognised by insurers.

Q2 I like the remotes that give you remote start and live information re car. are any of these in my price range.

Q3 how easy it is to wire in 04 Bora.

    Thanks for any input

anything like this -> Warlock LCD Pager Remote Car Alarm - Car Locks & Alarms - JB Hi-Fi - Smashing Prices!in the 2-300 price range that doesnt suck ?

    Thanks for any input

How are they breaking into these cars? Smashed window is about the only way into your Bora.
Jaycar also sell a few kits.
You probably want a black wire system to get onside with insurance companies. (all wires are black)

the car doesnt have the alarm sensors (according to the hand book its where the courtesy light on the top door post)

Lockup the car but leave the window down and climb in see if the alarm goes off or not.
