Nice pick up. Great work getting it sorted and it sounds like an amazing deal on the motor and wheels.

good to see this car back on the road!! Good job mate!!The car looks great. I'd get rid of that front lic plate holder. The car looks so much cleaner without it. Have a look at my photos, i took it off

Nice, good price on the engine too I thought it would have been much more than that.

May I ask how the old engine was damaged?

You will probably just need to recalibrate the Steering Angle sensor with VAGCOM if there are no other faults like a faulty wheel sensor or anything.
Full instructions on the ross-tech site.

VAGCOM have a neat "Application" on the latest version to automatically reset the service interval too.

Mr JLT - Nothing else needs to be done, im just waiting until i get close to getting my license back so i can register the car, no point in registering it 5 months before hand haha..Once i get my license back im shooting up to VW Osborne Park where they will reset my codes and then straight to the DPI to get it over the pits!!

Sovereign - The previous owner (uberwagon) unfortunatley drove the car through a small puddle of water on the road and water was caught into the air system and passed through the motor, blowing a hole out of the block and litterally shredding the engine into pieces. When i pulled the engine apart it basically fell apart in my hands (most of the top end was damaged aswell). The engine was FULL of water and the spark plugs were all rusted and very hard to get out lol. It was so amazing to see such a huge damage, the conrods and pistons were crumbling in my hands.

Its funny though, i went to the auction when i saw it online, i had a look at the car from the outside before i went to bid for it (about 30 mins to go) and i was like WTF? Whats wrong with this car, its only got 2 scratches down the sides, interior is MINT and then i was like, ill have a look under the car, to my suprise i saw the sump had been removed and bits and pieces of the engine were scattered around the place, and i was like OHHHH NICE hahaha. I quickly grabbed as many engine parts as i could and scattered them even more throughout the car to scare off any other bidders and rushed to get my bidders number. I was in a strong tussle with one guy when we were bidding for it and i finally picked it up for $10,100. pretty much a steal imo, OH and before i bidded for it and made sure i could get a engine for it, just in case HAHA...
