Nice car, I've always been cautious with black cars, but when they look good (like yours does), they look *gooooood*!

I recognise where you've taken those photos - Cropley House down the back of Baulkham Hills. I lived just up the road (off Arthur St) for 20 years, and live not much further away now in Winston Hills.

It seems there's a few 'dubbers from around the Hills District - hopefully when I get my Golf we can catch up for a meet!

Welcome aboard dude. Nice looking GTI there. The right colour too.
Let me know how you go hooking up the Dice unit. I'm interested to know how it goes. I'm a bit apprehensive about the Dice as it just says it will work with MkIV golfs as opposed to listing the specific head unit like Dension does. Where were you looking at getting the unit from? Also which head unit did the MkIV GTIs come with? The .:R came with the Gamma unit.
    Have fun.
    Cheers,
    Trent

It's a nice place for photos. The Masonic grounds (off Seven Hills Rd, just opposite Jasper Road) might have some good spots for photography too.

If you want to get some "industrial" shots at night, there's plenty of car parks up at Castle Hill (off Victora Ave) and in Norwest for that kind of thing, though no real "old school factory" style stuff out this way (gotta head towards the city, inner-west area for that).

Plenty of country areas out north-west too - I'm dying to do another Wiseman's Ferry & Gosford via Mangrove Mountain run (though I hear they've stopped the ferry, and you have to head upstream now to get across the river). There's some great spots for photography on that run, including some funky old wooden bridges that just look cool.

Nice car, just keep in mind that any sort of tail-light tint is illegal, no matter how well manufactured or light it may be. May I suggest as Neil just did to get a set of after market darker lights if you choose to have darkened taillights.

I have a friend who has a red fiesta XR4 (with stripes) in Baulkam Hills, and often hoons around there. Flog his car for me when you get the chance, eh?

Cheers! As for the ipod connection, i am still tossing up between the Dice and Dension myself. However i have found full Dice units off ebay for about $144, with about $30 postage, so $180-ish total. As for the Dension unit, the GTI comes standard with a Eurovox model 4680, and im not sure which Dension unit supports this, but i could still be persuaded to a Dension unit.

Yer i work up in Norwest, and there are some pretty good construction sites up there atm, but i agree, old school docks would look alot sweeter than an industrial site, however both can look good at nite

In saying that, does that mean that the smoked tail lights from Hella are not illegal?

    Cheers Guys!

they are not illegal because they are a manufactured product which happens to be the same brand as your existing lights. Because they are a properly engineered product that complies with road safety standards they allow a more than adequate amount of light to pass through from the rear tail lights. Just as your car's lights are darker than a GL's, have a look on ebay too, there should be something on interest on there

I think I once saw your car parked in Baulkham Hills, at that narrow one-way street at the corner of Windsor Road, close to Cosmos Lighting. Because yours has the same GTI front badge that I have, that turned my head
Apart from cosmetic and in car entertainment, if you are ready for performance upgrade (in term of $$$$) you should consider suspension upgrade first. I'm in Winston Hills or West Pennant Hills, if you're keen you are welcome to feel how good is my KW V2 setup, of course you see in my signature of what add-on in my car which you can also have a try.

That would have only been in the past 2 weeks or so, i havnt had it that long. Thats where it gets parked when i go to uni. As for suspension mods, if i had the money i would, but atm im just doing small aesthetic things that make it look how i want, and im not to sure if i want performance mods cus then it will just give me more reason to speed and waste fuel and considering i have just come from a 60kw 4WD (see below) i am more than happy with my stock 110kw!! hehe
