Yeah, i'll have endless fun with the Mk1 when it's done. But unlike you mine will be off-the-road untill it's completed, which makes it harder to stay enthused, especially in winter. Its soooo bloody cold at the workshop some days.
But keep it up man, your Mk4 is an absolute stunner. Its probably the best one i've seen and really impressed me in the flesh. It is exactly how i wanted my white 2.0l sport to look. Same wheels and everything.

New toys! Woohoo. My suspension and handling side of things will shortly be complete. I love impulse purchases.
Item number 1 - thanks to Milan is a nice pollished front strut brace. I forget what make it is but the make starts with W and is realy long - a very technical description I know.
Item number 2 - A Tomas Sport Tuning rear stress brace.
So once that's done, my suspension/handling will consit of:
KW V2's
Whiteline F & R sway bars.
ECS tuning bushings all round.
W something or other front stut brace.
TST rear stress brace.
Just for good measures I might also get the neuspeed lower brace but I'll see if how it goes with all this fitted first...
Then it's time to hit the trace for some 3 wheel action!!!

yum yum.. i'm loving your mk4 neil.
re: wheels, what's the dealeo with getting them engineered..?
is getting something engineered basically a big shiny piss off notice to rta?
i think i'm dying a little on the inside that i didn't get to see them at nats
87' MK2 GTI
13' MK7 TDI
I think I'm 1/2 an inch to wide on the rear to be able to get them engineered
The RTA booklet says no more than 2" wider than the largest wheel available that came on the car. I'll look into it more but we'll just have to wait and see. Basicly it means the cops can't defect you and your car has meet criteria to prove it's road worthy.
