Hey Neil, I just had Falken ZE329 fitted on my wheels. I know they're a farcry from the FK452 in terms of performance, but they stretch very nicely. They've got a really pronounced rim protector and has managed cover the rim even when stretched. They were 195/50 across 8", but I previously had 205/40 Nankang NSII on and they totally exposed the rim .

    Falken ZE329

    Compared to Nankang NSII

Don't have direct overhead shots on the Nankangs but you could see the edges of the rim sticking out.

Those falkens are good (by the looks of it) with the little edge they got there covering up the "poke"

wouldn't be a thing worse than gutter rashing your nice ass set of wheels!

I havn't gutter rashed a set of wheels yet, and I'll be overly carefull once I get the LM's on. The P-zeros do have a fair bit of poke on them so I want to try and keep it similar. In saying that, the LM's have one of the fatest lips I've ever seen on a set of wheels so I doubt I'll be able to get that kind of coverage with stretched tyres.

yet? that's not positive thinking now is it?

I didn't actually think about it matching other tyres. I would think that'd actually be fairly important..

The Bora vents are in and lighting up. The realy make the interior look much cleaner - pretty happy with them for the price I paid.

The wheels - they still aren't on yet. I went rummaging around my old mans garage tonight to see if he had the bit's that I needed and no go. I'm going to see DUB 20V tomorrow and hopefully he might have what the part I need.

Stay tuned to this space for some phat photos soon to follow...

Our cars are distant twins We've both got R seats, BBS wheels and KW coils.

I'm really curious as to how your wheels will fit on the front. My 8 inch ET32 wide wheels barely clear my coilovers (I can squeeze a finger between the strut and wheel - thats all) and yours are going to be sitting 9mm closer to the strut. Then again, mine are V3's - maybe the V2's have a smaller outer diameter?

    It's going to be close!

I know Tim had V3's and on his Mk 1 GTI and he had to space the fronts out about 10mm from memory, cause other wise the tyres rubbed the springs. He had the standard mk 1 GTI wheels on too, although he didn't have strech, rather the oppostite actually! (they were fat semi slicks! )

I hope you have fat fingers!!! The calculations that I did gave me 5mm clearance, wich was the recomended clearance with the V2's. It is going to be a tight squeeze for sure but doing a search around I found others runing the same final ET that had it working...

Pete, do you still have the same wheels, I thought the RC's were 7.5" wide ET38?

I'd go and check how much clearance I have, but I'm stuck inside with the heater on, with the flu!

You're kind of right Snowy, VW 337 and GLI BBS RC's are 18 x 17.5 ET38. Mine are Shotpeened RC 330's (with VW centrecaps), which are 18 x 8 ET32. They both have the same inner position, but my RC's sit 12mm further out towards the guards.
