The sync mirror thing can be rather handy when reverse parking, you can tilt them down together to see the lines. But since I have my left mirror pointing down slightly more than the right the left stops at the bottom and and the right continues to come down. When I put them back up the left comes up as high as the right and I have to readjust the left one.

My manual also mentions the option for AUTO tilting of mirros when reverse selected, and then going back to the original position. This would save me from realising that they are pointing down when I go make a fast lane change after leaving the shopping centre.

Anyone know how to activate this freature ??

Is this on a Mk4? I thought that was a polo feature?

I read through my manual too and noticed that feature. Maybe it was an option on overseas models? There's a couple of features I read about that I don't have, such as the trip computer function on the cluster with ambient temp, electric folding mirrors, auto changing rear view mirror when too much light comes in the back etc. I just assumed they were features on Boras and the like.

The Jetta does all of the above and also has auto tilt of the left one when the car is in reverse, then it resets when the car exceeds 15kph going forward again. It wasn't set up at delivery, but I did it by the book's instructions - automatically defrosts when rear demister is switched on too.

From memory, the manual also says that this a feature on cars equiped with power seats (and the upgraded comfort module - think driver memory).

And yes, GTI's have heated mirrors and they work really well. In Australia, they're wired to the rear defroster switch. In some countries, the heated element is activated from the mirror joystick.

If yours don't get hot after a few minutes, the elements may be dead.
