Thumbs up My Intro - Robs Bora 4-Motion

Well after having owned it for nearly 2 and a half years and having lurked around here for quite a while i suppose i should introduce myself!

After being a owner of modified pulsars for many years with my car before this one being a Nissan GTI-R with a 4 door body conversion and car before that a N14 1.6 with a custom bolt on turbo kit the lure of luxury got hold of me and i ended up buying one of these awesome cars!

When i got it the car was in immaculate condition and i got it at a good price with full VW service history and logbooks. Not long after i got it i had a cat back exhaust fitted which a while after was swapped for the Std exhaust and then once again another improved cat-back. Next came a new pair of shoes and soon after a tow bar which has been mighty useful. I've been constantly impressed with how well they handle as standard with simply slightly wider and better rubber fitted, definitely an improvement on my old GTI-R.

The AWD system in these cars i also find fantastic. Its interesting to note how much it does help, as when it's not working, you definitely notice the difference in cornering. I found when mine wasn't working, going quick in the twisties you really cant get on the power anywhere near as early or that little flashing yellow reminder on the dash comes on to tell you to ease up!

Along the way i've had a few problems, Window clips failing, thermo fan isue and recently the haldex controller giving up the ghost. However all have been fixed and i've been pleasantly surprised just how easy they were to fix and surprisingly *touch wood* not excessivly expensive

I've long had plans to turbo it however after coming across a few difficulties i ended up giving up and buying a R32 GTR which i spent too much on ( Did the bottom end first trackday :/ ). However since i've sold that as i'm living overseas at the moment when i return i'll be back onto the idea of boosting the Bora as recent developments mean i should now be able to get it tuned in SA

Anyway i've a habit of talking to much so i'll stop there and hopefully when i get back to Aus i might meet some of you (well the SA contingent) if i get myself out to a meet!

    And now, Photos

    Cheers,
    Rob

Looks swish, the leather looks well looked after as well.

I'd put some euro spec'd wheels to keep the theme and drop in some HR springs to eliminate the wheel arch gap.

Nice Bora mate, one of my favourite VWs!
Would love to see this dropped nicely on some Euro shoes

I have a cruise I want to organise soon for us SA boys, will be good to see this there.

    Thanks for the compliments guys!

The wheels are XHP Jet Blacks, i like them but i would love some more offset especially at the rear, so i might look into finding something else and they'd definitely be euro I'm looking at doing suspension but am not sure whether to replace shocks and get some springs or just go coilovers!

Lorenz i'll definitely try to make it out to a meet! (although i've been saying that for years!) but it wont be till after Aug when i get back to oz!
