My Golf is steadily dying, what you guys think i should do?

Hi guys n girls!

I'm having some mechanical and overall general problems with my golf mkiv 1.6gl such as engine gets abit smoky and wheel alignment n warped disc, door handles coming off, car being too slow etc etc.....
wandering what you guys think i should do? I was thinking about buying a new polo gti but itll set me back for a long while or get a new engine put into it.....and if i go that way i want at to be a gti engine....i have around 11k to play around.....at the moment im contemplating wether i should sell it or not...what you guys think?

I'm tempted to say: "Put it out of its misery - SHOOT IT!" But I'm sure that's not what you want to hear. Sell it for parts and buy another?

IMO the faults you are noting there could be fixed in a day mate. How smoky is the enfine and what colour????? Its still a Golf 4 mate, surely would be good engines in wrecks out there 20v with loom and box hmmmm . I would be keeping it thats my opinion/
