thanks, it was the oettinger front grille.
Was a great small mod that made it look a tad different to every other mkiv on the road.

Pretty awesome car for the money.

Also, it did take some time to sell.. from what i observed the modded cars were very hard to sell, and probably didnt fetch what it deserved.
Im sure it could have got a lot more if it wasnt modded as much.. a lot of people just see it as a bit off-putting and therefore only appeals to a very small minority.
For $9K I'd have been all over that if I knew - even though you're interstate and it's not my preferred colour!

    I'm still looking...

    Almost every other MK4

I got offered "four to five thousand" when I was considering upgrading to a 35ed.

damn that looks nice.. i always had plans to colour code my valances, never got around to it.
    Yours site much lower too..

That price is an insult for the car they are... Much better off getting rid of it privately, even in doing this i feel they are a hell of a car for the money.
    Great for the buyer though.

Still not having much luck here in Melbourne.

Had lined up an appointment to see an immaculate black gti early saturday morning with only 107k on the clock... but it managed to get sold before I had the chance to see it - this is the third time in a row!

Went and saw another one, this time with only 63,000km, however it had hail damage on the outside, and sun damage on the inside (advertised as "condition you would expect to see from a car with only 63,000km") - the owner would not go under $14,000. I told him in a polite manner that he was dreaming...

    Rant over.

    Mission complete.

I've put down a deposit on a black 03' GTI with only 86,000km, sunroof, and I suspect an aftermarket down pipe and possibly ecu re-map (owner seemed to think car was stock, but it doesn't drive like any stock mk4 gti I've been behind the wheel of!)

    Only paid $10,650. Pics soon.
