MKIV R32 Gamma Head Unit Dead
Hi All,
My Gamma head unit has died. The CD changer will allow load and ejection of CDs but the power button does nothing!
Two questions:
1. Has this happened to anyone before and was there a simple (and cost effective) solution to retain the head unit?
2. Recommendations for a Double Din replacement to provide iPhone connectivity (can be bluetooth or just USB cable etc.)
Thanks all

Exact same thing happened to me ... like you, the whole unit (radio and cd changer) seemed to have power, but no response when power button was pressed. All fuses were OK too.
I found an exact one-for-one replacement of the radio unit on ebay (second hand) that fixed it for me. Since then I had the car in for a service and the VAGCOM report had some radio errors, but dont know if that was from the original unit or the replacement. It made me wonder it the original was still OK but just needed an error code cleared???
As for brand new replacement, the Automedia from Repco looks OEM ...
