    Mkiv r32 front grills

    Todays challenge..opening the passenger side lower grill. it came closed from the factory (not sure as to why)
    but with patience, time and a Stanley knife this is what i achieved...

    Nicely done, wasn't it closed on the passenger side as that is where the air intake is?

    While it does look better VW are more about functionality as a hydrolocked engine is not favourable so that may explain why it's blocked on the passenger (gutter/water pooling) side.

    The stock air intake path enters via the VW Grille Clay So unless he has a CAI then there is definitely no issue to be had.. If you have a CAI, just get a closed off one for wet weather

    Ahh okay, i had only seen Mk3/4's with intakes down near the bottom of the passenger side front bumper.

    My lower grill vent is open and have a CAI pipe not too far away.
    I'm often scared when driving on wet days and the sight of puddles makes me worried.

    yeah nah i would not have it open with a cia down there..i just have a stock one
