Can someone tell me what MKIVs did and didn't come with the small red section at the bottom of the cluster? [The part with petrol/ambient temp etc] Mine's a 2000 GTI and doesn't have it - it'd be nice if it was just a dead globe but I don't have the buttons on the end of my wiper stalk to scroll through the options

holey crap this is funny sorry

but Glidns old alias was Dubbed

and im reading your message going wtf are you on about dude.. i fitted in a Immo3 MFA in the weekend and enabled distance to empty and **** like that!

    sorry lol

you can upgrade your car easy as

just need to do a little bit of wiring there are guides to it on the tex

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1921113

just get the VAG TACHO software and get a second hand immo3 cluster

(they are way better more feature ritch but are a little harder to get working initially!)

Distance to empty is only available on Immobiliser3 clusters

    ie

Glidns car had an imobiliser 2 cluster

    1J0 902 821 A

so i got him a immobiliser 3 cluster which was

    1J0 902 826 A

If the number in red is a 2 it means it has a half height display if the number in red is a 4 it means its is a full height display if it is a 0? or a 1 i think its no display

and the number 6 at the end means its immo3 if it was 1 or 5 it is immo2

    make sense?

you need vag tacho to do the EEProm dump from the cluster

then you go to address $416 and replace the byte "C1" to "E1" save it and then re flash it

you can also do the needle light up mods etc

now i have changed mine so that the needles are always lit and then the cluster lights right up when the headlights are on
