MkIV Bouncy Rev when idle.

I recently bought a MkIV golf and after driving for about 20 minutes home, i stopped put it in neutral and the rev gauge started bouncing and the engine was revving. I didn't have my feet on anything. Any suggestions?

Airleaks.

The rigid vac line which runs from brake booster to throttle body is prone to leaks at junctions and one way valve locations, the pipe is thinner where it flares for joins. I have used heater hose to go over the splits with good results.
Also a few hoses behind the throttle body which can get gaping holes.
