I could reset your ecu in 2 mins flat, and it would cost however many litres of fuel to get to your place!!

That is if it's as simple as other cars, i.e disconnect battery terminals, then touch +ve and -ve terminals together to completely drain the system of current, BAM! system reset

    Dunno bout the CC tho.....

On another note, I have been looking for a good VW place to get my Golf done when servicing comes around, thanks for the heads up Alper!
the reason it cost that much was because the guy that was workin the car took 3 ****ing hours to find the issue!!

i said to tom what would cause the car to bunnyhop?

he goes to me a million things. i said thats bull****, it wouldnt take a guy from the ****ing UK thats worked on VWs for 20 something ****ing years to diagnose a car!

HE also told me thats why we couldnt get you a quote first, cos when he found the issue it was a quick fix.

****ing tools, the lot of em

And mechanics always wonder why I talk to them like they are idiots and have no respect for them!!! I was always under the impression that if anything electrical is done to the car, the FIRST GODDAMN THING you do is DISCONNECT THE BATTERY!!!!!!

    Like you said, ****ing tools!!

Good luck getting you money back Alper

Yeah, it's called a "front DIN mount" bracket, your stereo should of come with one in the box (assuming it was brand new), with fitting instructions with it. It's stupidly simple to put in, let me know if you need a hand, I might be able to help you out seeing as you're in Melbourne. I'm in wheelers hill, next to Glen waverley if that's any help

Consider the time it has taken them to diagnose the issue.

    Anyone can reset a computer....

If anyone could also daignose the issue, ALPER would have realised himself....

    Nothings free in this world.

Go to VW and they would have charged the poor bloke 120-150 just to have the car put in the queue to be looked at, let alone the more then likely cost of 6-700 for the same job these guys did.

Some people need to get a grip on reality... Just because they said a place around the corner can do the job, its you at the end of the day that has gone there.

I have also had experieces with these blokes, though very minor and they were ok.

    Live and learn.

WHY would you allow a mechanic touch anything electrical?

Thats like allowing your carpet steam cleaner to install your new gas hot water system???

    Alper,

If you live anywhere in the SE Suburbs, visit AUDVOLKS.

James is fair, cheap and doesnt **** around.

The only issue is how much of a lead time he may have been so busy usually.
