    Have a 2003 2.0l Sport, auto.
Haven't had any problems with the transmission as of yet (touch wood) at 135,000.

What are the service intervals for the 2.0L MKIV Golf Auto? When is the major/minor and also when is the timing belt supposed to be changed?

I am looking to buy a 2003/2004 MK4 2.0L Auto just for occasional driving and to/from train station/home (only 1.5KM).

I currently own an Audi A4 B8 1.8TFSI CVT. Looking to get the golf as a 2nd car but won't be used a lot for long distance.

    Thanks,
    K.

I had a 1998 2.0L 5 speed manual golf. It went well for what it was. You still had to use the gearbox but it was an easy driver.

    Hi Guys,

I saw a MK4 2.0L Golf Sport Auto. I liked it but the aircond is not blowing cold air, only hot air when I set it to 27C on the climate control. When I set it to 17C is really a bit cooler than fan. Any ideas what is causing this and will it be a big cost to fix? If it is I won't bother to get the car. Also engine starts fine, but just a tiny bit harder than usual, the guys said he went to the mechanic and they think it's because they hardly drive the car which is true, and lets say it's the starter motor, is that a cheap fix?

Other than that it looks fine. Just the rubber around the gearbox console is peeling slightly, can this be restored?

    Thanks,
    K.
