MK4 Sport 2.0L Headlight adjustment knob

Hi All,

I just picked up a MK4 2.0L reflex silver Sport Auto on the weekend.

There is a headlight adjustment switch/knob next to the light switch, there is a setting of 1,2,3, it moves up and down. Which setting should it be at?

Not sure which is best and not blinding drivers.

All the way up works for me. If you have a trailer on, the back will drop and you may need to point lights down a bit.
Is there a manual in the glove box?

as above, when mine was working I had it right up.
when there was a full load in the back or was following a friend for an extended period id wind it down

For my mk4 Golf, on the maximum (right all the way up) is horrible. Can hardly see anything on a dark street. Is there anything I can do to readjust the headlight itself?

Can adjust it at the headlight.
If they have been removed at some point they might need Re aligning.
