    MK4 R32 oil change

    Hello,

Im about to change engine oil in my R32 but im not sure what kind of oil i should use. I use penrite 0w40 in my bmw, but that engine is 20 years old and it loves penrite
I was thinking castrol/mobil 5w50 for the golf.

    Any suggestions?

Check the VW 507.00 specs, and stick with something that matches. 5W50 would be a bit thin when hot I think.

I use Castrol Edge Sport 5W30 in my 2.8L Bora V6 4Mo, it seems pretty good oil for the price. I only use a fully synthetic oil regardless (even if it's a synthetic cracked from mineral oil).
    Nothing to see here...

I used that same oil and it seems like the car enjoys it. Its running much smoother now.
I just dont understand why did VW designed the plastic engine cover inderneathe the car to cover the filter?? I had the option of taking it off completely (the one that goes from the front bumper to where the sump starts and has about 20 screws) or to try and pull it down a bit and squeeze in there, which i had to do and it was really annoying!!
    Great design VW!!!
