Haven't heard anything but it could be one of the adjusting screws has vibrated loose and is completely out, hence the sudden drop in the aim. Maybe try winding the adjustment screws to see if they make any difference.

Hey Guys
Has any MK4 R32 owner on here had any issues with there headlights where the low beam is angled very low all of a sudden?
Was driving last night only to wonder why i could barely see on the road. When i pulled up at home and aimed the lights in front of the garage, noticed that the beams were sitting very low.
Had a read on the vortex forums and some people are saying it could be a costly excercise to repair, but hoping someone on here knows something about our version of the Hid Headlights.
Cheers guys

Im having a different problem...
My right hand side headlamp does not turn on from time to time, actually most of the time, im guessing the resistor inside the headlight does not flare up when it is supposed to?
Nothing to see here...
If its just one side then there is a ball and socket arrangement inside the light for the adjuster - sounds like the ball has just popped out.
Or if its both then one of the axle sensors might be broken.
You can scan the controller with VAGCOM and it will show an error. You can also run an output test to see if the motors inside the light are working properly.
If the Xenon doesnt fire up then you might have a faulty ballast ($$$)
There are two components to the levelling system.
The first is also on the Boras, and that's the motors that adjust the headlight aim up and down. On the Bora, this is a manual process (you have a small dial/wheel on the dash to the right of the steering wheel which lets you set the height.
The second part is the auto-levelling part, which involves sensors in the front and back of the car to determine what "level" is, and then adjust the lights accordingly. If they're aimed really low, the car may well think the back of the car is dragging down - check the sensors, and make sure they haven't come loose (I don't happen to know where they're actually located, but someone with more specific knowledge here will be able to say).

Hey guys
I know the reply is quite delayed But i managed to source the issue of my dipped headlights. Pulled of the front bar and took the head lights out to see what the issue was. Don't know if i should be relieved or not, but the ballasts are fine. Its those adjusting screws that adjust the height that are stuffed. If i go to turn them, the don't resond at all. Now im hoping that this is the only issue but all that i could diagnose
Not sure if its bad for the headlight or not, but i was able to squeeze my hands in and pull the lens assembly back ( if that makes any sense) in order for the headlights to aim back up again. Was fine for a couple of days and then it dropped again
I'm hoping the avoid going down the road of replacing the headlights altogether since they are around the $2k mark !! Anyone have any other ideas as to how i might be able to fix those adjusting screws? Or are there any workshops/places etc that deal with these sorts of issues?
Cheers Guys
