    Mk4 R32

    Hi all...
Does anyone know what the stock power (kw/torque) is on the 2004 R32.. reason why i ask is, ive been thinkin about buying one but am at the moment compareing the performance and drive to the Renault Megane R26..(168kw and about 310nm torque).. which is released in september for around the 42k mark + dealer delivery..... comes with "tricky" features like launch control..it's quite an impresive car...
Does anyone know the stats im after? and what is your opinion on the comparison....
thanks all...look forward to reading your replies... Mario.
(former Mk1'er, may she rest in peace.....still missed 5 years later)...

R32 has a lot more street cred!
Best thing u can do is drive both and see which u prefer. Just try and drive a 6cyl VW and not fall in love with the sound. I dare you!

ummmm, hehe,,asking the wrong person,im a bit biased... R32 can never be put in that league even though the other is a good car.R32 mk4 has cult status world wide, does the renault???
ask yourself in ten years, will the r32/megane still be regarded as a collectors car ??? hmmm

see thats one thing that grabs me about VWs. (im clearly biased) They may not be the best built most reliable cars in existence but every VW ive ever driven even the slow ones leave me with a big grin. Cant really explain it. Its just like they have character.
I was considering a mk4 r32 but decided to go for the mk5 gti instead. Just cos its a newer car and i already have a v6 vw.
if youre considering the megane wouldnt its direct competitor be the MK5 GTI? have u considered bringing that into the equation?

    Welcome to VWwA Mario

If your looking for thrills and spills form what I've read the Renault is the car for the job

If your looking for a sheep in wolves clothing the R32 is the car to have

Personnelly the VWs are more user friendly, (ergonomics etc).

    Megane V Mk5

yeh it would probably be a better comparison going by the cars specs..2l turbo etc.... But the gti on road is about 10g more (buying new) but is down on power compared to the megane.. that why i was compareing on a price/power basis.. The mk4 r32 was the closest... but yeh is a 2-3 year old car..but if i can find one with only about 40k on the clock..that's new enough..

yeh i agree that the golf for some reason or another leaves a grin every time i drive them... im biased too, had golf's since i was a teen, spent copious amounts of money doing up my mk1... Supercharging etc.. (which ill be selling soon......blower, ported 8v head with 40.1inlets & 34exh,manifold etc).... see... i just start on the topic and cant stop!. golf's ahhhh.

    thanks.
