    Mk4 gear linkage problem!

    Hey gus, my bushings are gone and i get clinks when ever i shift gears and im ordering new bushings and im confused as to what type of shifter style i have is it the, pin style endlink & shifter linkage ball/socket style linkages.
    can anyone sort me out i have a 2004 mk4 golf generation 1.6lVW Shifter Bushing Set - Mk4 5/6S MY02-05

    Bump. looking at getting these Torque Solution Shifter Cable Bushings VW Golf VR6 MK4 1999 99 | eBay

    Can anyone tell me if i can buy them locally in sydney or do i have to fork out $30 postage for 3 bits of rubber?

    Contact JMAC on here. He replaced the gear linkages on my 1.6 MK4 last year. He will know exactly what you need.

    So i found out what the clinking noise was the bushings are gone on the rod so these bushings i got dont really help me that much except for a tighter shifter. But i have no clue where they go onall the youtube tutorials are crap!! Someone help me out!

    The bushings you have gotten appear to be the ones that mount the shift lever up into the trans tunnel.

    hmmm do you know what the bushing i need is called its the one that goes on that black rod

    forgot about this, went to repco and bought a $5 pair of bushings and theyve done the job!
