MK4 Bora 4Motion Tail shaft / Prop Shaft parts

To install the 50/50 bung, I had to remove all four rear cradle bolts and let it drop as far as it could with all the arms and axles still connected.
This gives just enough room to get a tool up above the haldex pump controller to remove and reinstall the bung and circlip.

Did you replace the prop shaft flexible disc / donut at the front as well?
How did you stop the prop shaft from spinning?

I tried doing this when I had the gear box out but gave up as me and a mate couldn't stop prop shaft from spinning and access to the bolts was limited.

Hey mate, no, the front coupling disc was still in relatively good condition.
I stopped the tail shaft spinning by putting the car in gear...that's not much help to you if you have the box out though

Firstly, the tailshaft-haldex coupling…it lined up perfect to the tailshaft, BUT….I did have to drill out the three coupling-haldex flange bolt holes, because the quality of China parts just aren’t made to a very high standard of quality and the centres were 0.5mm off and one bolt wouldn’t line up perfectly with the haldex thread. Re drilled the three holes from 10.5mm to 11mm and it went on perfectly.

I also successfully installed a JXB performance centre bearing carrier and confirmed with the owner/operator of JXB (for the first time, no one has tried this yet) that his kit for mk4 R32 (golf) works on a bora 2.8 4motion…and so he will be updating his website and products across the board to now accommodate this chassis in his lineup.

Also, while I was under the car all day, I dropped the rear subframe and also installed a Darkside Developments 50/50 haldex bung and serviced the haldex.

It drives quite differently now and the difference was immediately apparent when hard launching.

Do I understand correctly that you‘ve managed to install Golf MK5 (e.g R32) Haldex Coupling on an Golf MK4 Haldex unit?

And did I understand correctly that you‘ve could it bought directly as a spare part from an manufacturer like Febi etc. but was, let’s say a bit fooled by Chinese Product Descriptions in the first place and went on and it fit anyway?

@NAANI?4Motion, I'm currently struggling to replace the front flex disc and if I need to drop the prop shaft, may considering also doing the rear.
The link to alibaba you posted seems to be the front flex disc.
Do you remember the listing where you bought yours?

Also, how tight did you do up the 10mm bolts connecting the flex disc to prop shaft? I can't find it in the Bentley manual. There's not much on the web. I've seen 40Nm + 45° and 50Nm + 90°.

I'll just leave this here for OEM part numbers. Febi Bilstien and SWAG still make these.
