im looking at buying a mk4 golf of a random person and the oxygen sensor on the car is rekt. if i get this problem fixt will there be any futher problems with the car???
thanks for your reply man.
when the owner turned on the car it was struggling to stay on.
he told me he got it inspected and its the oxygen sensor thats rekt and it will only cost 200 buks max 2 get it fixt.
The car has also done 160ks and his selling it for 5gs. what do you think
If it's so cheap to get it fixed, get him to fix it before you pay for it. And yeah, get it inspected by someone who knows VWs - there are a few specialists in your area (Seb over at Girraween to start with, at least two Euro specialists in Parra/North Parra).
Which Mk4 Golf? They range from 1.6L econoboxes to 3.2L AWD monsters...
Nothing to see here...
its the 1.6l. the cars actually located at st andrews which is next to cambeltown. Is there a way to get a mechanic out there to see the car?
Just wanting to know how much ks on a model like this is to many. because im looking at buying this model gold and dont know if 160ks is to much.
the 1.6s have there problems , if you do a search on hte forum you will find the answer. Personally id say get a 2lt, still cheap as chips to run, but just has a little more power
Auto or manual.
There are a lot of problems with the manual gearboxes.
Do a search on DUU gearbox codes and see the horror unfold.
2L or GTI is a better proposition, or even 1.6 auto.
