MK4 18" Wheels on standard suspension

    Hi All,

Does anyone have pics for the above? Does it look ridiculous or it's ok without lowering?

    Or is 17" better?

I currently have 16" stock Sport 2.0L wheels.

Also does it slow down an already slow car? Much difference?

    Thanks,
    K.

Is your car a gti? They are already a bit lower than the 2.slow and 1.6.
But any mk4 on original suspension is likely to be a lot lower than it started.

it looks ok with a full size tyre (225/40/18 or 235/40/1
will slow it down if the weight of the tyre and wheel is more combined then your original wheel and tyre combined.
Light weight wheel with a lower profile tyre (less weight) so help.

Check out the first page of my bora picture thread in my signature for a mkiv with low km and 18s

Thanks for the pics. Hmm 18" on stock suspension looks ok, doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be.

    I have the 2.0L Sport 2003 MK4.

    Should I bother with 17"?

Where can I get replica R32 MK4 wheels? I'm in Sydney.

I would prefer to buy 5X100 instead of 5X112, prefer to have it without needing adaptors.

    Hi,

Thanks. Hmm 18" might be the way to go if it's not much slower

Key to a 2lt is keeping them light or lighter then standard.
    Reps will be heavy.
The mk4 r32 wheels are pretty heavy too. You don't require adapters for them

in the first pic the wheels are mkv r32 wheels with adapters.
second pic are different wheels 5x100 reps.
As for size and weight making a difference, I don't get it.
The mk4 is a 1.6l auto and it goes exactly the same whether it has the 14in steely's on it or the 18's.
