Mk3 2.0 vs Mk4 1.8

Hi Guys

Does anyone know the power difference between the Golf GL 2.0 Mk3 and the Golf 1.8 Mk4? Is there a very noticeable power loss in these?

I made a deal to buy the Mk3 and was going to pick it up this weekend, then some b#$%rd swooped in and offered a higher amount and gave it in cash so I lost it. Now I have to start again and look for another one. I'm considering the Mk4 but am concerned that it won't have the same power as the Mk3

My brother is selling his golf 3 2.0l 16v,110 kw, bit faster and more power then the norma 2.0l or golf 4 1.8l
