Mk 4 r32..anything to look out for?

    Hi guys,
I tried searching but coulsnt find what i was looking for and its hard on the iphone.
A friend of mine is looking to get an r32 and was wondering if there is anything he should look out for?
Any problems on these cars? Anything special that he should look for?
    Thanks.

I've had mine for almost 4 years and i had to change 4 front wheels bearings, coolant temp sensor and AFM (AFM was my fault )
Now that they all have higher kms i'd look at suspension bushes, shocks and brakes. A set of front rotors is $750 each from VW!!!! But dont let that turn him off, the same set from ECStuning is AU$495 delivered from US!! Genuine VW rotors!!
Its a great car but it can get costly if it hasnt been looked after. Make sure its got the service history, preferably from a reputable VW specialist. Dealers have no idea what they are doing, its always kids working on cars. If it does have a specalist history, pay the shop a visit and ask if the mech knows the car
Thats about all i can think about off the top of my head

definatly make sure its been well looked after, front end bushes espcially ( castor bushes are prone to deteriorating and the tie rods are prone to excessive play ) Balkanac : your comments regarding dealerships isnt called for. If anything dearlerships are the best place to go as they have the correct tooling, information and skills to work on these cars. Specalist places at times know their stuff ( and im in no way bagging them ) but at one stage they too were a kid working on someones car.

I hope your mate gets the car and has many years of enjoyable motoring
