    Misfire/Shudder on idle

hey guys, have a 1.6SR MK4 golf with 146,000 kms on the clock, and completley stock. At idle it has a misfire from the engine. I've noticed sometimes as well if you keep the car at a certain speed (say 80 klms) over a distance it will start to shudder (same sorta feeling when you have warped brakes and the car shudders back and forth kind of feeling) this is the same feeling at idle.

The tacho does not erratically move around may fluctuate a tiny bit but nothing to be of note i dont think and other than that it drives perfect, the misfire is MORE NOTICEABLE the warmer the car gets, however is still there when cold.

It has had a carbon/upper engine flush, throttle body alignment, new spark plugs, full service so far to no avail.

The dealer said that when i first took it there it threw codes (codes unknown) but however since doing the above work it did not throw any more codes. So the next step they say is to change leads and coilpack at a pretty high cost so just wondering if its worth doing this or what else could it be?

    Thanks it advance.

Heaps of stuff you can try.

Leads, vacuum leaks, dirty throttle body, air mass sensor, temperature sensor, to name a few.

Checked all hoses i could for any discrepencies, couldn't find anything. Woke up this morning to take it to work and the misfire is noticeably worse this morning on cold start, it feels as if a car would when slightly braking whilst having warped rotors, but the car is stationery.

Really dont want to fork out the $400 ish for new leads and coil pack to have it not fixed again as the dealer was certain after a good service, carbon clean, throttle body clean and new plugs that it would be rectified, this alone cost enough.

Anyone else got anything to try? In the mean time gonna have to get all sensors checked by dealer that could effect the car this way.

    Cheers
