    A mechanic in Sydney...

Just wondering if anyone can suggest a mechanic in Sydney who charges reasonable prices for services.

I just had a new driver's side power window regulator installed on my Golf Mk4 for $350 and I reckon that it's daylight robbery. Anyone know someone who charges reasonably?

    Cheers.

    Hi Mooney,

I used to live in Newtown back between 2008 - 2011. I had used VW and some second hand European (overly expensive) Mechanics.
I however came across an exceptional mechanic location in Alexandria:

Motor Mechanic, Car Service and Maintenance Specialist in European Cars, Sydney - Central Autohaus Alexandria

Julio who ran this shop, amazing!

Genuine, honest, reliable. Excellent mechanics, no BS and piece of mind.

I wish he had a crew down here in Melbourne where I currently reside.

    Give him a call,

    Bennett

Cheers mate. I will give them a ring. Until now I've had just repeated bad experiences with mechanics trying to fleece me. Just looking for a decent place where they'll charge me a reasonable amount for whom I'll go back to repeatedly.

On a lot of these you need to pull it down and see what you're dealing with.

I've had a few where someone's been in there and butchered the door plate to get it going, only to fail again. You end up having to replace the whole lot, when a kit would've fixed it the first time.
