    Mass Airflow Sensor MAF advice

Car is MK4 golf 1.6L engine code AVU 167000km on clock

    Hi all,

I don't have a check engine light but I know the car is running a bit rich from the smell from the exhaust and its general running. On a scan using VCDS lite I am getting the following codes.

    6 Faults Found:
16556 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1: System Too Rich
    P0172 - 35-00 - -
16486 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
    P0102 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16497 - Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42): Signal too High
    P0113 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16555 - Fuel Trim; Bank 1: System Too Lean
    P0171 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16726 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): Signal too Low
    P0342 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
    P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

I think its the MAF sensor. Am I right? The part number is 06a906461B. Anyone recommend a good aftermarket one as the genuine ones arr so expensive

    Many thanks

Hello, The last item on the list says "low voltage". Would you be better to investigate this as it may be the root cause of other things not functioning properly. I am not sure if this model has a relay like some others.

It's called the magic 4 in volkswagen land.
Replace the spark plugs, 02 sensor, airmass meter and finally coolant temp sensor.
Not overly expensive parts if you search around
You won't have a problem for years once these are done.
