    Which MAF?

Does anyone know which MAF to purchase for the AGN 1.8 (non-turbo). I saw several on ECS' website but none have the "AGU" code against them.

Its a 99 GLE, see my profile pic. I checked a service receipt and they noted the engine as 'AGU'.....but I think your right....I dug around further and it looks to be an AGN - so I'm looking for the correct MAF for an AGN. would it be cheaper to source locally?

so I disconnected the MAF this morning...still had the problem on first start (sputtering out). So maybe its the coils? or is it still worth replacing the MAF (or just the sensor)?

How many KM on the car? they usually just wear out over time, my first one only lasted 63,000km, i had a second hand one put in with already 80,000km on it and got another 50,000km out of it (which i was told was VERY good). they, along with your other sensors and theomostat, they are always a nice replacement to give the engine back its orginal zippiness.
So can be worth jsut replacing it if you can afford it.

Car has about 110k on it, I'm sure its the original MAF so its probably due for replacement - I take it this is a job that just requires the right torx drivers and should be fairly simple ?

Have it diagnosed first, throwing money at random parts won't fix it economically. You need someone with VAG-COM that knows how to use it.

I checked a Bora last week doing something similar mate, ended up being the throttle body. No idle up on start up, was getting plenty of fuel and limited air, caused it to splutter. Have it scanned. I know of another Bora doing the same, i know its a different engine but similar symtoms.
    Whats it like warm????
