lowering mk4

hey guys im looking for the cheapest option to lower my golf mk4 2.0, im a student so i would like the best option on a budget. cheers guys

If I'm not mistaken the MKIV Golf GTI had lower suspension that the 2.0 version.

Cheapest option would be a used set of MKIV Golf GTI springs but then you don't mention how low you want to go.

I'm still convinced that a drop beyond R32 height demands twin sets of adjustable lower control arms to control camber and toe concerns - unless you love buying rubber every 10k kms.

I don't think that there is a need at all to have adjustable lower control arms. I've regularly gotten over 25K kms with my last few sets of tyres and I'm lowered enough where the rear camber is clearly visible.

Dpm performance in the uk also sells kw v1 - I got for $850 landed (basic, not stainless steel version) and I love them.
Only took 8 days to get here too.

Check out some of the forum sponsors for parts.
what model mk4 do you have? if it is not a AWD, and you plan to lower more then 40mm keep in mind you MAY run into problems with the sway bar rubbing on the drive shafts
