Looking for a Mk4 GTI VIN number

    Good evening all,

Just asking your assistance on a matter.

I am trying to order Mk4 GTI brake pads for my Mk VR6, however need as VIN number to order them.

Obviously I do not have such a number and kindly ask if there is anyone willing to donate theirs for this purchase?

    TIA,
    Mal

You don't need a VIN - they just want one to make sure they're getting the right part.

If you give them the part number and accept responsibility for it being right, that's fine.
    Nothing to see here...

Thanks Rob, yeah I knows that. The mate who is a mechanic is ordering them through PBR, and they wanted a VIN number, was just following his advice. I could have sourced them myself no probs, but he ordered my tyres etc too so just went through the one place.

I think ull find that theres two different thicknesses in brake pads for gti's (thats what Bendix told me anyway), which is prob why they were after the VIN. So if you've done a brake upgrade you mite need to find out exactly what year model theyre from.

interesting, and my car being an MY04 (built late 03), means it is possibly not the VIN you would want..
