OK guys, got a reply from World Impex.

Sir I would be glad to help you and sell for you. The cost of shipping
you see for qty:1 of the item is close to what I can arrange for you.
If you make the purchase through me, I can box them all and give you
the total price of shipping but you will have to pay for the units and
allow me to charge an agreed amount of shipping cost once everything
is boxed and ready to go.
    Let me know.
So here's some calcs, the shipping price he wants for 1 item is (US)$170.54. He's saying he should be able to get close to that for 5 but wants to make sure he doesn't get caught out once it's all packed up. With this in mind I thought it would be an idea if we allow an extra buffer margin of say (US)$150.00, just in our own calculations so we don't get any nasty surprises. (this allowance almost doubles what he's saying he can get close to). With that all in mind:

    5 Vented arch liners = $266.00 (US)
    Shipping $170.00 (+ our $150 buffer to be safe) = $320.00 (US)
Total = $586.00 (US) shipped to Australia
Divided by 5, this comes to $117.00 (US) each.
Converted to AUD = $140.77 (AUD) each shipped to Oz

I think I'm being fairly cautious with the shipping by allowing the extra $150 so our end price should be less than that, but who knows, that's the best I can come up with guys, so it's basically open for discussion, can anyone spot a flaw in my calcs, what do you think?

If I can pay $140.00 (AUD) or less for my liner I'd be happy with that, but everyone's different and to someone else that may be ridiculous.

Of course even if only 3 of us decide to do this we could just split the $170.00 (US) shipping between us ie. (approx US $57 each) which is less than what ECS Tuning charges as a minimum to ship anything anyway, even a wheel cap or 2 spacers. That would then make it about $150 (AU) each, plus local distribution within OZ.

You will also need to add shipping from the bulk organiser, to each of the buyers locally in AUS.

    Bumping this back up.

Looking for some Yay or Nay on this guys so I can get back to the guy and get it rolling or shoot it in the head.

I asked the US guy to make sure all the holes align correctly etc, and got this answer back:

(9:40 AM 8-21-2009):No worries sir; it's no bother at all. Yes, the car in the photo is a Mk4 GTI & the holes lined up just fine. I have heard that the lower front outer lip should be trimmed down by a few mm, but mine didn't seem to need that. It might be on a case by case basis. I can tell you though, that you will be pleased when you get them in hand. I have a thing for factory goodies like that & I was super-stoked when they came in. I've sole a number of them to other members in my club & have not one unhappy face as a result. Hope you have the same outcome.
    Cheers,

they arent much here, i think i got quoted $110 last time or something less.

    ask Seb?

alternatively, just cut it out and put some mesh in there and spray in black; works a lot more effectively as it allows more air to come through that the small vent from the TT liners!

    :p

Thanks mate I'll ask Seb/Courtney and see what they can do, but as far as getting them here, I was under the impression that these liners were only from a obscure MK4.5 version released in Canada and the Oz VW dealers weren't interested in bringing them in and never had brought them in.

Ok guys, we have (limit of 5 people):

    Snowy - Canberra
    agonza - Canberra
    sierra055 - Melbourne

Fellas, please make sure you double check my calcs in my post above and are also happy with the World-Impex guy's shipping info in his reply to me, because that's the best answer I can get out of him.

As Pierre suggested, I have also asked Seb/Courtney if they can let me know if they can source these at all, so pending their answer we'll go ahead if all parties are happy.

    Snowy
