2nd hand warranty aint worth much....you'll find that a lot of things arent covered, certainly not the parts that commonly fault. Also, they will only replace the faulty part, even if best practice is to replace the faulty part + part A, B & C.

Don't even hesitate to do the waterpump and timing belt straight away. It'll save you headaches and stress. Otherwise it'll be in the back of your mind every time you start her up.
I think it's over priced by a couple of grand but I'm sure you're negotiating.
Good luck :)
yeah true they are totally diff. I would prefer the GTI. I was looking at a sportivo at first but thought the GTI would be a better option due to the turbo. more to play with later on.
The GTI comes with 110kw stock the Sportivo has 141kw stock. But the golf looks better in my opinion and has bit more class than the sportivo.
Well im still waiting on the guy to get back to me. There are a few private ones on the net but the Kays are high but i suppose it comes down to whether the car has been looked after or not.
chipping the golf will give you more power than the sportivo and thats just the beginning - the 1.8T has huge tuning potential
one of the guys over at Ozaudi has his S3 up for sale (in brissy).
Price has dropped from $23k to $19k and he's getting quite keen to shift it.
dont look at it tho, becuase, like i did, started looking at GTIs and ended up with an S3

The Audi would be nice but is just out of my budget for the moment. Thanks for the option.
Well still in Talks over the car. Will let you guys know the outcome.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the info. Hopefully ill be the owner of a GTi soon. Fingers Crossed
As much as I despise Corollas, it'll probably be cheaper to maintain than ye olde Golf! You just miss out on the build quality, quality materials, and that solid safe feel.
Just after a quick opinion here.
if you were buying a car from a dealer(VW) and the car had full VW service history and the VW 120 point used car sales check. Would you be confident in purchasing the car with out a RACV check.
HI Guys
Just wanted to say thanks for the help. I purchased the car and will pick it up next week monday. RACV report came up good only noted a few little things. They are fixing a seat belt which was worn but that was the only thing that needed the urgent attention.
So im wrapped with the purchase just waiting to get a hold of the car now. Im like a little kid on chrissy day i cant wait till monday:banana:
