not trying to win points here boys, thems the facts. i can take piccies next time i am on cruise control on the freeway. my average is usually 8.8L/100kms or 8.9. i actually get annoyed if i finish my tank over 9.2L. i use exclusively Shell 95 (not that this is a fuel thread) and i can promise you i give it the beans on suitable occasions. i mean, i bought the car for its pipes, and if i want economy i drive my TDI. now that puppy can give me 1200kms to empty if i fill up on a highway run. average 5.2L/100kms this week on her.

Wow just wow, thats really quite epic fuel consumption! I'm in lonewolf's boat, my consumption is usually around 9 - 9.5 on the freeway with around 12.5-13.5 around town!

Would it be fair to say that most of your kilometres are highway/freeway?

I can get great economy on the highway, but I don't do much highway driving unfortunately.
    Nothing to see here...

talk about a thread hijack - its like Libya all over again.

i drive from Wilton to CBD and return - both in peak - and avoid the M5 by driving on Canterbury road. so if anyone wants to check that on whereis but i'd say its a good 35-40kms highway and 30-odd kms at average 40km/h.

I reckon it is usual information for someone looking to buy a 4mo. How's that for getting back on topic?!
