Hello everyone, I'm considering buying a car in April some time and the Volkswagen Bora has caught my eye, 2000 model V5 manual, is there anything I should know about these cars? Thanks much in advance.

2008 VRS Wagon. Yellow, very yellow!
Forever blowing bubbles.
It's OK ... I'll shift it to Mk 4. Welcome to the forum.
Dave
Whoops, sorry about that, thanks for the welcome and the info. The Bora caught my eye when I noticed it has full leather interior and all those luxury features. Can they fit 4 people in them comfortably?
Pretty comfortably unless you have to big-uns in the front. Get the V6, get the V6, get the V6, get the V6![]()

Gotta say, I'm pretty happy with my V6 4Motion. More power, AWD, another gear, very nice!
IIRC, the later V5s picked up more power (up to around 125kW IIRC), a 2000 model would be an earlier one.
Nothing to see here...
X2 on the 4mo, I've seen both cars go at auction and despite the massive difference in spec between the 4mo and the 5cyl, the 4mo's only go for slightly more if not the same as the 5cyl.
The 5cyl is incredibly popular but still, inferior to the 4mo V6 model hence the pricing as they are atm.
80,000km 1997 MK3 VR6 manual for sale - www.vwwatercooled.org.au/forums/f23/80-000km-1997-manual-vr6-nsw-sydney-67658.html
Ah righto, fair enough. I saw the V5 because it was only $10,900 with 160,000km on it being manual also. How much would the V6 ones be worth? The one I'm looking at has a full service history and going by photos, interior is in excellent condition, no cracked leather on the seats, no stains etc.

Maybe that is why its for sale, I'll show you the comments:
Coincidence that its up for sale at 160,000km at a cheap price? On time service and maintenance has always been the first priority, stunning luxury car with beige scratch less leather interior including original Volkswagon carpets, all electrics work and function correctly. This car also comes with REGO till FEB2009 including a valid current RWC.
This vehicle has been always pumped with 98octane premium fuel only. Accident free and is immaculate as every detail of this car is in mint condition.
As standard features this particular model cars including heated leather seats including cruise control, CD changer and original catalogue.
65ltr of fuel does 600km’s on standard roads and for a V5 that’s an excellent efficiency in fuel and inter state, this car does an amazing 750km’s per 65ltrs.
It’s a regretful sale but we have made the decision for an upgrade, if not this is a perfect luxury car. Price is negotiable but you have to inspect the car to actually experience the luxury and comfort it’s built for.
T ghou the car has doneenuinely 160,000kms, these vehicles are built to last generations.
Recently this car has had a full service, and 2 brand new tires. If you are interested, please feel free to have a test drive; with such a promising condition any test is welcome. Only genuine buyers please.
P.S. - WHEN YOU KNOW ITS MECHANICALLY A1, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BOTHER LOOKING AT ANOTHER CAR
