V5 is faster than the V6 4mo. Definately get the manual.

I hate auto cars, manual only for me. The only time I'd consider an automatic is if somehow I lose a leg. What came standard on the V5 Bora, features etc?

Same or similar features to V6, but only FWD, not 4WD, but lighter and less to go wrong.

    Autos suck, particularly VW ones.

Sorry Loon that's not correct. V5 0-100=8.5 secs, V6 4MO 0-100=7.4 The V5 is certainly no slouch though.

FWD and 0-100 in 8.5 seconds doesn't really matter to me, fastest car at my household at the moment does 0-100 in 13 seconds and is FWD also. AWD doesn't really matter to me, more to go wrong and I'm not going to enter this thing into the WRC 2009 either.

Going by the link on carsales, looks like they are fairly well optioned up.

Coincidence that its up for sale at 160,000km at a cheap price?
Best thing to do is ask the seller a question - they say it has had a "major service" recently. Just ask them if that included the belt/chain job.

Perhaps it did - then you could be on the win. If not, get a quote for the job and use it to reduce the asking price

Usually when you get the car serviced, they also give you a few pages saying what was checked and replaced etc, I could ask to see that too They say it has a full service history, so I'd assume they keep all those little things too.

With the engine having to come out for Timing belt/chain replacement, this car isn't like the Nissan 300ZX is it where everything has to come out for the smallest of jobs and the engine bay is as tight as a fishes

Also, while we're on the topic of servicing and repairs, do you know where I can pick up a workshop manual for these cars?
