I thought personal insults werent allowed , not very good for an admin to insult a professional mechanic .
Not very professional to critcize others and provide no facts either. That was my point.

Also its "You`re" not "Your". Just providing facts to help keep you gramatically correct mate.

Err, don't you just hate it when you criticize someone's grammar, and in the very act you spell the word incorrectly.....

How much experience do you actually have with 4 motions to make a statement like that ?

The 02m is VW/Audi strongest east west gearbox and the haldex will take about 700hp before the rear diff will shatter .

The O2j pops diff rivets like no tommorow once they get over 250hp through them .

I have done some research on this and many american's have seen 180,000 MILES or a lot more out of there VR's before having to replace the chain.

Chain is a bit like turbo's you will hear it starting to go as it will rattle but sure it can be a costly exercise if you don't so best to watch it.

Bora 6 is definately quicker than the V5 even with the added weight V5 feels gutless in comparison.Fail Wheel Drive car = light and economical but I would never consider one. Besides how much fun is it to power-slide an AWD car.... It's awesome and a challenge to with limited amount of power.

I can't believe that you would even consider a V5, the V6 is a stronger engine with a drivetrain that the AUDI TT 225 HP/TT 3.2 6, R32/S3 all high performance variant's especially the S3 which can get some serious numbers.

You could flog it all day, every day and it will take it because the engine doesn't give anywhere near what it is rated for in the Bora as per Bug's saying.

The haldex system is reactive but you can make it pre-emptive or more like a proper AWD car. Not hard.

Thanks for the advice, sure the V5 may be sluggish, but its cheaper, if I wanted something with some guts I'd go a BA Ford Fairlane for the same price, has the same luxury features, more space and of course, more power which would burn both the V5 and V6 models badly in the 0-100km/h and 1/4 tests, also be cheaper to insure/service because its an Australian car. I just can't justify the extra $5000 or so for the V6 model which has AWD and is slightly faster

Which I think is fair enough, no offense intended to anyone I am heeding your advice though, so keep it coming!

No offense taken. The Fairlane is a totally different car and as I used to drive one as a company car I could compare them but it's not what you were looking for.

And if its pure speed we are after you could easily get a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R that would munch nearly everything on this forum but probably not as mature as some of the other cars on here in different area's.

You don't buy a ferrari because it goes fast, you buy a Ferrari because it's some of the best car money can buy.

At the end of the day, you need a list of your top 3 wants in a car and a budget.
