    Looking at Bora

    Hey all.
I'm in the market for a car and the only appealing cars I can find in Tas are VW's and the odd Audi Been looking through the Mk4/Bora forum for the last day or two now. A search for 'Bora' has returned a fairly positive view of the Bora. I'm looking at this one for sale in Tas:
    http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/...d=12399C991DD4

I'm coming from a Mk3 VR6, has anyone driven both that could give a comparison? What do ppl think about the asking price for the one I listed? My dad is going to look at it for me this weekend so i'll let you know what he thinks.
    Thanks

Beautiful cars. In comparison to your VR6 it's going to be much more refined, quiet, and smoother. I'd say it'd be a little bit quicker too: more power, but more weight. But AWD, leather, and 6-speed

Bora V6 4mo...oh yeah.. Ka chow!

Unless you want to get busy and transplant a 1.8 20VT into a 2.0 body and make a Bora T, although it might be easier to just import one from US or UK

Had mine for just over 2 years and still love it like day 1.

Not sure there's room under there for twin turbos, or much point given how narrow the V6 is...

The later ones are 125kW, earlier ones are around 110kW IIRC, all through the front wheels (5 speed manual or 4-speed auto). Probably not too shabby, but not the same as the V6 4Motion.

The car in the OP's carsales link is a pre-update model (the update occurred 2002.5) - very few changes were made though, the interior changed slightly, there may have been some minor changes to gear selector linkages, etc, but that's about it.
    Nothing to see here...

    Bora V5 does 1-100km/hr in 8.something secs. I think the V6 is 6.something secs.

Be aware that the 120,000k service is a big one, but Andrew in Hobart will be able to handle that for you.

It might have already been serviced by him.
