And IM pretty sure that was on low boost. Check out the hill climb video earlier in this thread, this car is an animal!

Pretty close, It made 270kw (361hp) at the wheels that was with the exhaust disconnected from behind the cat at 17psi.

Currently I'm running a bit less power at slightly higher boost owing to a somewhat restrictive exhaust. But the exhaust is quiet I'm not really after chasing numbers, I'm sure with a bigger rear exhaust section and more flowing mufflers I could make 300kw ATW but as I said, i'm not interested in chasing numbers! (really I just cant be bothered or justify the expense of making a new exhaust because who am i kidding, i'd love 300kw atw!) Also my wastegate wont hold more than 18psi, need one with a tighter spring.

^ the truth! I honestly haven't gone around dragging anybody, not my style but I know on the roll the bora is solidly faster than my mates R32 GTR and also a lot quicker than an R8 Clubsport. An Aurion wouldn't stand a chance

How much hp and psi are you pushing at the moment?
Currently I'm running around 18psi. Power wise with the exhaust in its current form its dropped it to 340hp at the wheels, but it makes a ridiculous amount of torque so i'm not fussed. So far so good with the gearbox and diff *touch wood*

I know I could make more power but time vs effort vs expense vs gain is keeping me from doing more work. Plus its bloody fast as it is so i'm focusing more now on making it corner better and stop better. Hopefully i'll have some anti-knock-back-springs for my calipers soon, i've got new wheel bearings ready to put in and i'll have some nice pads soon too.

I'm heading to the drags this Saturday so might have some timeslips! That's if I can get it off the line well.

do you have launch control enabled on your ECU ?
with AWD surely you would have no problems getting it to hook ..
    VW BORA 2003 V6 4Motion
    Volkswagen Golf MK3 1997 CL 1.8L

I think the problem with most AWD's is getting the launch right!

Good luck Rob, I hope you have a Go-Pro!

This. The advantage of launch control is the ability to launch without bogging down. Throttle is wide open. Turbo cars gain the advantage of building boost before they launch.
Not sure whether C2 have launch control or not. Might only be a United Motorsport feature. Correct me if I'm wrong.

No launch control unfortunately, but if I don't bog down on the launch it gets up and boogies quite well!

This is the tricky bit! At the hill climb I found a relatively quick clutch release at 4k rpm worked well, generally got all 4 spinning without shocking the drivetrain too much. I'll probably do the same, I was planning on launching gently on sat... but heck may as well give it the beans!

And yes a Go-Pro will be utilised

Use the factory launch control? I.e the limiter.

In all seriousness. Watch videos of WRX owners at the strip. They know how to do it. Slip clutch through first, slip it through the 1-2 shift then go.

I think you might find that the surfaces will be slightly different Rob. Not from personal experience, but a friend of mine went drag racing, and 'on the street', at auto crosses etc, he'd launch at 4K, at the strip he had to launch much higher, due to the extra traction of all the rubber and composition of the strip.

Might be best to have a quick chat to some other AWD cars that are there in the night, suss what they're doing, if they noticed a difference etc.
