Yeah, thats pretty true. this is awesome, and it would have been awesome if you had a lot of the stuff machined and fitted for you - but you've done it yourself which is even better.

Heck if I can actually DIY spray my calipers i'll celebrate for a week.

Awww shucks thanks guys Its a pretty awesome road to head down but definitely one with a few speed bumps along the way! Hopefully my experiences can help you guys when you choose to go down the path! I was looking back over the thread and my inital hope of having it done in 2 months turned into 4 and nearly 5 now considering the turbo problems, so it definitely takes longer than first thought!

Very nice work! How many k's are on your engine? I am wondering if I should include a bit of an engine refresh at 156k in the costs.

Good question! Mine is 150~kms and i have a 6th sense feeling that she's getting tired and would love to sort out her gremlins.

So i've got a quick teaser video, this is just running in the turbo at 10psi. Sorry the vid's a bit long winded and average quality (iphone, so best if played not in full screen or it jumps and looks shoddy)but you get the idea Once i've got it run in and have made a new exhaust i'll get some more with more boost! Warning lights are brake pad check (no wear sensors in new pads so i've got to bypass this), Fill coolant bottle (haven't put it back in yet) and engine check light for the reasons given earlier in the thread.



My motor's got 147k km on it with a full spotless dealer service history. In honesty the motor still feels very tight, very little blow by etc. Haven't bothered to check compression but now that its decompressed any compression figures would be purely academic as i've got nothing to base them off of.

Ok as requested here's a 2nd gear rolling start run giving it some beans this time! It wasn't from 30 though, more like 50ish . This time around 11-11.5ish psi. My exhaust parts arrived today so in the next week or so i'll have that all fitted up
