Yeah I'm not a huge fan of aftermarket headlights to be honest mate. But it is your car at the end of the day
Those headlights are disgusting Frank, please don't get them.

yeah i know. i was originally thinking that. but it may be a massive price difference. if i can save $500 or more from just doing guides and tensioner ill do that. $500 is a lot of money for me
lol how are they disgusting? they are replicas of the original lights but black instead of chrome. which is what im after. getting those is cheaper than waiting for a wrecked pair of oem headlights that ill paint! and i think it looks better than putting film on the lenses
Oh dear.
Not my cup of tea, but like others have said you car mate you build it to how you want too.
If you were going to go down those lines might be better off to build your own bi-xenon lights using some standard headlights as your basis and go from there. Plenty of places will sell kits. Depends on I guess your hand skill levels.
i dont see whats so horrendous about these lights... like i said, theyre replicas of the oem just in black... whats wrong with black?
Hey Frank, how'd you go with getting your timing chain fixed up? I don't mind the black - black wheels, black headlights, black badges, black cupra r lip. Could look good! But not everyones cup of tea i guess...
the car is currently at Pacific Motors. theyve had the car since 8:15 this morning. the first reason i am pissed off is because i had to ring them to get my quote of whats wrong and price to fix it. the second reason is that when i did ring them they had NO answers for me except theyll have to pull the motor out because the noise is coming from the lower chain. they said they cant start work until next wednesday, and they said they cant quote a price because once they "strip" the motor theyll fix everything thats wrong with it!
so i told him i dont have the money for that and that theyll do the chains and thats it, he once again said he cant give me a price because they dont know what needs to be replaced. i told them i will order the full ecs and they can put it in. he said he can actually give me a price for the labor for that, but i have to ring back.
not only am i so angry i feel sick because theyre trying to squeeze money out of when i told them thats all i wanted them to do and they also couldnt ring me to tell me! but im now ****ting bricks that i bought a dudd!
Tell them to put it all back together and then take it to Arthur at Exoticars. He has more likely had MUCH more experience with MKIV R32's than Pacific and he will know what's going on. No, I haven't personally used him but I've only ever heard the highest of things about his work and Exoticars. The R32 is not an easy car for mechanics to get there head around if they haven't previously worked on them.
That's what I would do in your shoes at least. I had similar problems up here in QLD... and now go to a mechanic that services 90% of the MKIV R32s in Brisbane

^^^^^^ THIS! Put it on a truck and take it to Arthur!!
Sorry to hear about your dramas mate.
Unfortunately sometimes we learn the hard way. I'd be taking mine to some one who had been recommended to me even if it is a bit out of my way. Oh hang on thats what I do.
Hope it all works out for you.
If they haven't got it all pulled down I'd see about getting it back maybe cut my loses and speak to Arthur see if he can maybe help you out etc.
Hope you get it worked out mate.
