How can you say this isn't unusual?? He has built his own turbo set up with a water to air intercooler, short runner intake manifold, with a carbon bonet, relocated battery, Porsche wheels and more...In his garage...This is a one of a kind in Australia. The thing is immaculate, and his daily(other then their Barina from hell, tartan roof lining FTW!!).

I believe he fabbed alot of the stuff himself, including the IC

Love the build, hate the burnt orange on blue.
It'd be nice to see something unusual like matte white (would look hot with the black Porsche wheels) or satin gun metal gray (that could look mean).

Look forward to seeing more work soon.

I've obviously offended you, didn't realise i wasn't able to express my own personal opinion in relation to the aesthetics of JLT's whip.
I have the money for a car but its going towards a house deposit.

If you re-read what i posted you might notice that as far as JLT's build goes i have nothing but admiration, I just wouldn't have painted like that.
I never said the build (mechanically) was 'usual'. The term unusual was simply to describe some 'different' colour options that I would like to see.

Sorry mate I can't make carbon bonets. I didnt bring my welder with me so I put together my own Awic kit through www.froozenboost.com. 1/3 of the price of PWR. I put together my own turbo kit instead of spending 7-10.$$$ on a kit and then taking my car to a shop to have it installed. I have done most of the work(motor,drivetrain,body) to my car myself and with the help of a few fellow Veedubers here and there. But if theres something that your looking for maybe I can point you in the right direction Cheers Jay

I put together my own turbo kit instead of spending 7-10.$$$ on a kit and then taking my car to a shop to have it installed. I have done most of the work(motor,drivetrain,body) to my car myself and with the help of a few fellow Veedubers here and there. This really is the problem today. Everyone assumes the only way to do something is to buy a heap of parts or "better yet", a kit and get someone to put it all together for you.

Sure it works, but you're paying for someone elses knowledge (which in some cases can be questionable). I'd rather get all the relevant information if i don't know it already and do it my own way with my own hands doing the work as much as possible. Much more satisfying and much, MUCH cheaper.


I salute you, Jay. You're very smart, skilled, and a cool guy to boot. 'Some' people should take more notice of guys like you.
