So whats next. A 4 door W12? Then you could also pull your boat as well as the kids in the back!

You'd pull more than a boat with that!

How much would it cost to import a car to NZ, compared with importing to Aus?

im not completely sure, but jap imports there are half price. I couldn't belive it when i moved here. European cars are just a little bit cheaper than in OZ.
I know that they have a 2,5% tax (they did in 2002 when i was living there) and compliance process is not that complicated. They have what they call a Warrant of fitness and this is something like pits but not as strict. It has to be done every 6 months to make sure that your car is safe and rust free. This is what imports have to pass in order to get licensed! Easy!
This process might have changed since i left, but i bet its still a lot easier to import a car there than it is here. they don't have a car industry to protect like australia does.

There are a few hoops an imported car has to go though here before it can be roadlegal, one thing they are really fussy on here is the fitting of new rotors/pads/tyres.
Did aussie get the mk4 24v V6 4motion? the model down from the R32
