Can I literally just cut the connectors and make my own connections using crimp connectors, still essentially interchangeable. Or is it a matter of completely different wiring and I should just give up before I break something
So I purchased some leather seats and just finished giving them a full rejuvenation with a combination of leatherique and duragloss.
I went to fit them today and found that the yellow plug (airbag?) doesn't fit the one in the chair...
Also I have a green plug (heated seats??) that I want to utilise so I'm gonna get something like this Genuine VW Golf Bora Passat Heated Seats Looms With Switches Seat Heating | eBay
Can anyone tell my why these two don't match up? I read something about old and new gen changing plugs, if so, how do I make this work? Mine is a 2004 so will be new gen, which makes the bora seats old gen.
After spending around $100 bringing these seats back to near new condition, really don't want to give up on them, but I also don't want to **** up my airbag...
Also noticed the bora seats don't have the baby seat harness on the back of chair as I read these are attached to parcel shelf obviously, is this a legal requirement? Will I need to hold onto my seats and switch back when it's time to sell?
Thanks

Mine bolted right in. That was 03 Gti seats into early 01 bora.
I was understanding I'd have the same issue after lots of research on the web, but seems not.
I believe most people over seas cut and re solder, or just put a resister in so no faults are displayed
I'll go pick up some old style yellow plugs and cross my fingers it doesn't deploy them somehow haha
Do you happen to know dylan if it has the green plug, does that mean it has the seat warmers installed?
Cheers
I can't remember which colour is which sorry
Almost certain you're right. My R seats have green connectors for power and yellow for the airbags. Can't help you with the pin-outs sorry as mine were a direct swap.
Also - take a look here for a wiring harness. Confirm compatibility before ordering You'll also need the switches but you should be able to get a set (drivers/passenger) for ~$30 on ebay. Saves you $200.

Any chance anyone has the part number for the early model bora airbag plug, on the car side, not for the seat?
